[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION]
The Ahava Ensemble, which began in 2006 with a small charitable concert to help children with pediatric cancer, was founded with the intention of sharing love and connecting hearts through music. Since that first performance, the sincere desire to share moving moments with more people has continued, and over the past 20 years, the ensemble has consistently delivered warm musical resonance to audiences. This concert looks back on that journey and serves as a meaningful stage to reflect once again on the values of sharing and empathy that music holds.
The concert opens with Mozart's 5 Country Dances, KV.609, creating a bright and vibrant atmosphere through cheerful and dynamic rhythms. Mendelssohn's Double Concerto for Violin, Piano, and Strings follows, harmoniously unfolding lyricism and dynamism through delicate dialogue between instruments and conveying profound musical resonance. Piazzolla's Summer then vividly depicts the vitality of the season with intense rhythms and passionate melodies, adding another layer of energy to the stage. Arvo Pärt's Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten offers a time of deep reflection and contemplation within its restrained composition, allowing the audience to feel the inner resonance of music. Ravel's Bolero follows, creating dramatic tension through progressively expanding rhythmic and sonic layers, and finally Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, with its free-flowing energy that transcends the boundaries between classical and jazz, brings the concert to a brilliant conclusion.
This 20th anniversary concert revisits the meaning of the past years and reaffirms the values of sharing and love through music. We hope that every melody delivered from the stage will remain as a warm memory, continuing to resonate in the hearts of our audience for years to come.
