[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION] Inspired by the artistic legacy of Vasily Kandinsky, a master of modern Russian abstract art, this performance unfolds an original artistic world where music and visual art intersect under the title "Kandinsky and Russian Painters." Featuring a three-generation family ensemble comprised of pianist Irina Kandinsky, violinist Anna Kandinsky, and violinist Hannah Kandinsky, the performance showcases an artistic lineage spanning generations. Tchaikovsky's Meditation opens the program as a work capturing deep inner lyricism and quiet contemplation. Stravinsky's "Pas-de-deux und Variationen" from Divertimento reveals the new sensibility of 20th-century music through the rhythm and structural tension of dance. Following this, Moszkovski's suite for two violins and piano displays the charm of Russian chamber music through rich ensemble colors and lyricism. Shostakovich's three pieces for two violins and piano unfold a unique musical language where wit, satire, and inner tension intersect. Finally, Glazunov's Grande Adagio concludes the performance with flowing and profound melodies that capture the essence of Russian Romanticism. This stage is further enriched by commentary from art historian and artist Lee Dong-seop, who explores how the artistic worlds of Russian painters centered on Kandinsky connect with and expand through music. As music and visual art converge with the artistic continuum spanning three generations into a single flow, the audience will experience a living artistic narrative. [PROGRAM] P. I.
