27th Seoul Baroque Singers Regular Concert

[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION] Haydn's "The Creation" is one of the world's three greatest oratorios. While Michelangelo depicted God's creative history through painting, Haydn expressed God's mysterious creation through music. Haydn's "The Creation" is undoubtedly a masterpiece of the highest order and remains one of the most beloved and frequently performed works in history. Over the years, Seoul Baroque Singers has performed a diverse repertoire ranging from early to late works of the Baroque era. Following a successful performance of J.S. Bach's greatest masterpiece, the B minor Mass, at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall this year, we are planning to present Haydn's monumental work "The Creation" in 2026, which ushers in the Classical period as the father of Classical music following the Baroque era. This work is truly the pinnacle of choral music and simultaneously a grand composition filled with symphonic elements. We are convinced that providing frequent opportunities to appreciate this precious masterpiece that encompasses both orchestra and choir is a mission that Seoul Baroque Singers must undertake, and we are planning this performance with that conviction.
