[PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION]
I have asked myself the same question for a long time.
"Am I an artist?"
I have created music, sung songs, and written, but I could not easily answer that question.
I believed that an artist is someone who looks at the world through their own perspective and expresses it in their own language. But am I truly such a person? Or do I remain someone who merely follows others' music?
This performance is a record of one creator who has lived while holding onto that question.
A person who has long lived as a "pipe" reproducing others' music becomes, at last, a "filter" that allows their own emotions and stories to pass through. Through this performance, I will share with you in songs and stories the journey of gradually discovering one's own voice throughout this process.
On stage, there is only one piano and one creator.
I will play the piano and sing without a microphone, and between songs, I will share my thoughts on what it means to live as an artist, to continue creating, and how after long periods of doubt, I finally came to call myself an artist.
The performance takes place in a very intimate format with a maximum of 5 audience members. At a close distance where the boundary between stage and audience barely exists, it is a time to listen to each other's stories with only one person's voice and piano sounds.
This performance is not a place to show a completed answer.
Rather, it is a time to share with you one person's process of finding their own answer and a moment from that journey.
