The seventh journey of Büer Ensemble, now in their 13th year since debut, begins with a deep exploration of this question. With steadfast dedication to expanding the horizons of domestic woodwind chamber music, these musicians have quietly built their own unique repertoire. This time, they encounter Mozart, Dvořák, and Mussorgsky. From the genius who reached the pinnacle of classicism to the great masters of national romanticism who shaped ethnic identity through music, three masters from different eras are connected through Büer Ensemble's breath into one musical narrative. This performance begins with the overture to Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, moves through Dvořák's lyrical String Quartet No. 12 "American," and culminates in Mussorgsky's masterpiece Pictures at an Exhibition. Masterpieces written for string quartet and orchestra are newly arranged for five woodwind instruments, offering the delicate and rich timbres that only a woodwind ensemble can create. The subtitle of the performance, 'Promenade,' transcends the simple meaning of a stroll through a gallery, serving as the central axis of the musical narrative connecting three composers from different eras and styles.
