This dramatic development subtly resonates with Brahms' Symphony No. 1, which will be encountered in Part 2. After intermission, Brahms' Symphony No. 1 takes the stage as the crowning work of this concert. Beginning in dark shadows and building tension and conflict over an extended duration, it ultimately reaches a climax as brilliant as radiant light.
