The Lecture Concert Series is a humanities and arts program that has been presented since 2020, combining lectures and performances on themes such as European art history, cities, museums, and artists by era.
In 2026, under the theme of "Meeting of Art and Opera," the series will examine the historical context and artistic significance within artworks, providing audiences with a deeper understanding of art.
This is a guided concert designed to appreciate classical music and visual art as a unified experience. Centered on the music of Verdi, Fauré, and Chopin, the program will explore the artistic worlds of Cézanne, Van Gogh, and Ingres, interestingly revealing how different artistic genres share the era and emotions of their time.
The concert features concert guide Kim Sung-min, soprano Kim Yu-jin, tenor Sung Min-ki, baritone Ahn Se-beom, and pianist Lee Hyun-wook on stage. Accompanied by friendly commentary on artworks and music, vocal and piano performances are combined so that even audiences new to classical music and art can easily enjoy the concert.
In particular, by connecting the lives of painters and the historical context embedded in their works with the emotions and stories of musicians' representative pieces, it is expected to offer audiences a more profound art appreciation experience. Moving beyond appreciating art and music separately, this program provides an opportunity to discover the intersection where these two arts meet, enhancing audience satisfaction. Through this concert, which combines commentary and performance, audiences will have the chance to enjoy art in a more accessible and enriching way.
