[Performance Introduction]
The percussion concert [FLOW BLOW SHADOW], jointly presented by composer Lee Moon-hee and HICM Institute for Contemporary Music, brings together active percussionists Kim Ji-yeon and Yun Hyun-sang, who continue to gain recognition both domestically and internationally, alongside Taiwan's internationally acclaimed percussionist Meng-Fu Hsieh, delivering a densely packed performance.
This concert will showcase composer Lee Moon-hee's new works [Extraction of Metal Sounds] and [Weeping of Water], along with diverse contemporary percussion compositions that explore the infinite possibilities of percussion instruments.
The performance title [FLOW BLOW SHADOW] symbolizes a series of artistic journeys in which sound is born and flows (Flow), spreads like wind (Blow), and leaves behind the silhouette of deep resonance (Shadow).
The primal breath of nature—such as cold metallic sounds and distant water sounds—as well as the unique sounds possessed by numerous percussion instruments on stage come to life through the performers' fingertips. This concert unfolds the dramatic moments of how these diverse instrument sounds flow through space, collide fiercely, and finally settle into beautiful, lingering shadows.
