About
[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION]
Pianist alumni from Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main) in Germany are coming together on stage for the first time.
The "Frankfurt University of Music Alumni Inaugural Concert" will be held on July 15 at Kumho Art Hall Yonsei, with the theme "Resonance: Two Pianos Resonating Together." The piano duo ensemble format features two performers breathing in the same rhythm, listening to each other's sound, and engaging in dialogue through a single musical language. This reflects the significance of this concert and elevates the status of the inaugural performance.
The concert will feature pianists Song Min-hyeok, Han Gyu-ho, Kim Ye-seul, Kim Min-young, Moon Ji-hye, Kim Byung-hee, Kim Seol-hwa, Kim Sung-jae, Lee Jung-eun, and Lee Jin-hyun.
Drawing European Rhythms with Two Pianos, Creating One Breath
Beyond technical perfection, this inaugural concert presents music based on empathy and trust created through the bond of being alumni. The program begins with Chopin's vibrant rondo, progresses through Rachmaninoff and Saint-Saëns, and concludes with Ravel's grand whirlwind, conveying the meaning of harmony and resonance to audiences. The program, specially composed of dance pieces, adds to the festive atmosphere of the inaugural concert.
The First Stage of Alumni Pianists, The Beginning of 'Harmony'
This "Frankfurt University of Music Alumni Inaugural Concert" is specially composed entirely of two-piano performances. Through the process of creating music with eye contact and shared breathing, we can appreciate the importance of harmony.
The Frankfurt Alumni Concert plans to hold regular performances periodically, beginning with this inaugural concert. By bringing together alumni who are shining in their respective fields on stage regularly, the concert aims to strengthen the alumni network and create ongoing performance opportunities while actively supporting the activities of musicians.
