[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION]
High School Unified Choir Festival
Harmonies Connecting Through Time
Six private school alumni choirs, who have written the history of Korea's modern and contemporary education together, gather under the name of "choir."
Dongsung, Baejae, Boseong, Sookmyung, Jeongsin, and Jinmyung. The traditions and spirits that have been carried forward through different times and spaces now bloom anew as deep harmonies that span generations.
This performance will be held in the format of a unified concert where each school choir presents individual performances. With independent program compositions by each organization, you can appreciate the unique musical colors, interpretations of each choir, and the choral culture refined through long history all in one place. As a relay-style stage that focuses on the individuality and identity of each group without unified choral performances, the diverse charms of six teams will unfold richly.
Through a wide repertoire ranging from classical music and Korean art songs, folk arrangements, contemporary choral works, and popular music, we will showcase the diverse spectrum of Korean choral culture, and create a meaningful stage that transcends a simple performance by connecting generations, traditions, and the values of community through music.
Furthermore, this performance is a cultural sharing event for Gangdong-gu residents and citizens, held completely free of charge, and is planned so that anyone can enjoy high-level choral art without burden.
Each choir continues active musical activities through domestic and international performances, regular concerts, international choral festivals, and overseas invitation concerts, and will demonstrate the present of Korean alumni choral culture that creates new artistic values even within long traditions.
