[Performance Introduction]
Their showcase returning with their second full-length album after 4 years!
Following the release of their first full-length album in 2022, Hu Mapdae presents their second album after a 4-year hiatus, featuring bassist Kang Sang-hoon, drummer Lee Yu-jun, and guitarist Yoon Sung-hee.
The title is less of a title and more akin to the only declaration made through the united will of each member. A single declaration that runs through the entire album. Rather than a perfectly structured composition, they aimed to focus on the subtle nuances of rhythm and each other's breathing.
Hu Mapdae's music transcends simple genre reproduction, showcasing a chemical combination of Korean sensibility meeting funk rhythm. Through clear grooves and humor, they've created music that sounds deceptively light but cannot be dismissed as such. Though appearing simple and playful on the surface, anyone who listens closely will quickly recognize what lies beneath. This music is by no means made lightly. While faithfully following the grammar of classic funk music, they've woven unfamiliarity and audacity throughout, genuinely revealing the serious 'funk spirit' of these three people.
Three shy men simply played with their instruments, but at some point we find ourselves swaying to that rhythm. Humor is always right, and groove is always sincere. As if a steaming plate of spicy funk is all that's needed, they've brewed this album by combining life and rhythm without a single mention of love—truly, wow, it's hot.
