[Performance Description] Music Docenting: Erik Satie's Room Sitting at the piano, we gently exchange music and stories as we explore the life and music of French composer Erik Satie together. His unconventional music that defied formal constraints, a world where irony and humor coexist with solitude and simplicity— we slowly follow along with narration and explanation. Moving between performance, commentary, and focused listening, this is a space to contemplate the questions posed by Satie's music by translating them into our own lives and sensibilities. A time where those who found classical music difficult, as well as those who already love music, can sit comfortably, listen, and reflect. A place to 'understand' music and a quiet room to 'linger' within the music.
