About
[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION]
The third edition of 'Jang Hanna's Daejeon Grand Festival,' a celebration of young musicians armed with exceptional talent and passionate fervor, takes the stage. This year, under the theme of 'Joy of Music,' audiences will encounter music as a companion in life, embracing human emotions of joy, sorrow, and everything in between. Artistic Director Jang Hanna, who has led this festival for the past three years, presents a program that distills her artistic achievements and musical philosophy accumulated over this time. Following the Daejeon Grand Festival's journey two years ago exploring 'Be Yourself!' and last year depicting 'Immortal Beloved,' the festival finally confronts the joy that music brings, adorning the finale of this magnificent journey. An unprecedented lineup of the most acclaimed young maestros in the classical world, complemented by exceptional local musicians, awaits with performances at the highest caliber.
A recital showcasing the elegant lyricism and brilliant virtuosity of pianist Kim Se-hyun, recognized as a next-generation maestro, unfolds before audiences. Beginning with Schubert's spirited German Dances, the program presents dazzling technique through Chopin Etudes, followed by Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 performed in a string ensemble arrangement, delivering the piano's melody with enhanced clarity. Additionally, the Ditto Chamber Orchestra, which has consistently delivered high-level and stable performances at the Daejeon Grand Festival each year, takes the stage to complete the presentation.
