Jung Hye-kyung Piano Recital: The Legacy of Baroque II

[About the Performance] Pianist Jung Hye-kyung has been consistently performing in Korea since her return recital in 2010. Following her previous work, this recital continues with the theme of "The Legacy of Baroque," offering an in-depth examination of how the Baroque spirit has been inherited and expanded throughout music history. Beginning with Bach's English Suite No. 3, which showcases the restrained beauty characteristic of the Baroque, through Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 31, which applies Baroque techniques to Classical sonata form, and culminating in Rachmaninoff's Variations on a Theme of Corelli, based on the melody of Baroque composer Corelli, this program reflects upon the significance of the Baroque legacy as it is projected across works from different eras.
