New Year Concert: Rhythm of Classic

[SYNOPSIS] To welcome the New Year 2026, conductor Baik Yun-hak and the Korea Coop Orchestra present classic masterpieces that bridge eras and genres through "dance" as a medium. Dance music is a form through which music has most directly expressed human emotion and collective energy throughout history, encompassing important developments in music from classical and romantic periods to modern times. This performance focuses on diverse dance music styles including waltzes, polkas, tangos, and symphonic dances, conveying the movement and expressive meaning inherent in the music beyond simple appreciation, accompanied by commentary. The humor and refinement of Johann Strauss, the tension and crescendo generated through the repetition in Ravel's "Bolero," and the contemporary rhythm and sensibility embodied in "West Side Story" guide audiences to experience the aesthetic and emotional sensibilities of each era through the universal language of "dance."
