Marking his 20th anniversary as a jazz pianist, Bae Jang-eun is a representative artist of the Korean jazz scene who has established his own musical world as a performer, composer, and producer. Having expanded his musical spectrum through eight leader albums, he won the Korean Music Awards for "The End and Everything After" and later received the Korean Music Awards once again for the JB Liberation Amalgamation project, earning recognition for both his artistic merit and performance skills.
He has performed as a leader at major jazz festivals worldwide, including the Toronto Jazz Festival in Canada, as well as Jarasum, Seoul, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Thailand, and at renowned clubs in New York such as Cornelia Street Cafe and Kitano Club. Simultaneously, he has been active as a sideman for saxophonist Greg Osby and continues his international musical activities as an artist under his label, Inner Circle Music. In 2020, he was appointed as a judge for the UNISA International Jazz Piano Competition in South Africa, further establishing his status as both a performer and educator.
Having completed both bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of North Texas and earned a doctorate in Cultural Arts from Seokyeong University, he is currently active across performance, education, and composition. Recently, he has further expanded his musical horizons through the solo piano EP "Happy Jar and Piano" and his publication "Practical Harmony from Mars."
