[PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION]
What is the "Resonance Between" Project?
A salon-style concert where the clear resonance of singing bowls meets classical piano (Debussy, Chopin, Bach, Satie), offering warm tranquility to the audience.
The program consists of singing bowl improvisation, Debussy's Arabesque No. 1, Clair de Lune, Chopin's Barcarolle, Bach's French Suite No. 5, Satie's Gymnopédie No. 1, and more. We also provide brief listening guides to help audiences immerse themselves comfortably.
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Q. What inspired you to start this project?
I had been contemplating the relationship between healing, rest, and music for some time.
I wondered how we could make music easily accessible while promoting healing.
As part of these efforts, I developed various approaches including communication through mood lighting, fusion with different genres, and programs featuring synesthetic imagery.
This project began with the same intention.
In our still-busy daily lives, our hearts easily grow weary, and emotions continue to accumulate without being organized into words. I came to realize that what we truly need in such moments is not answers or explanations, but warm tranquility that allows us to pause, breathe, and care for ourselves.
"Resonance Between" begins with the intention of offering audiences a gentle moment of rest in an intimate salon setting—by releasing physical tension through the vibrations of singing bowls and slowly organizing the heart's feelings through melodies by Debussy, Chopin, Bach, and Satie.
Q. Why is this project meaningful?
Rather than "explaining" emotions and fatigue that are difficult to put into words, we soothe them through "resonance," helping audiences regulate their breathing at their own pace and recover emotionally.
By connecting beloved classical masterpieces with meditative sound (singing bowls), we propose a fresh way of appreciating classical music that newcomers can enjoy without hesitation.
By realizing performances that preserve natural resonance in an intimate 40-seat space, we establish a sustainable small-scale performance format accessible to everyday life.
