[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION] Following the grand "25th Anniversary Debut Commemoration Recital " held at Seoul's Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in September 2023, the "original popera star" Lim Hyung-joo (40, Chair Professor of Vocal Music at Rome Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia) is holding his first paid Seoul recital in three years! Korea's first UN Peace Medal recipient, conqueror of all three major halls at Carnegie Hall with solo performances, signatory of distribution contracts with the world's four major record labels, performer at Japan's NHK "Kohaku Uta Gassen," recipient of both U.S. President Obama and Trump awards, Grammy Awards voting member and judge, sole papal audience and performer with Pope Francis, lifetime scholar member of the Royal Academy of Arts and FRSA honoree of the British Royal Household, and recipient of the Presidential Commendation and Korea's youngest-ever National Decoration of Camellia—truly a legend of Korean popera, Lim Hyung-joo presents a spring recital on March 20 at 7:30 PM at Yeongsan Art Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, under the subtitle "Popera Sensation - The Emotion of Popera!" In this performance, Lim Hyung-joo, who serves as music director of the Korean National Philharmonic Ensemble, will showcase the true essence of popera—elegant yet magnificent, lyrical yet grand—accompanied by the ensemble's fantastic performance. The program includes "A Thousand Winds," "Wishing You Happiness (KBS Gwae-Chun-Hyang OST)," and a diverse selection spanning classical, pop, musical, Korean pop, and special 70s-80s dance numbers. Recently appearing on EBS , KBS <100 People's Emotion Show: The Signature>, Channel A , and TV Chosun , Lim's approachable persona and increasingly warm, beautiful renditions will undoubtedly captivate audiences.
