[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION] Park Yun-woo, a guitarist representing the Korean jazz scene who has earned acclaim as "a narrative woven through classical guitar," "an intimate sound finally achieved in complete form," and "the most noteworthy achievement in Korean jazz," will hold a solo guitar performance at the peak of autumn. Guitarist Park Yun-woo is an artist who has collaborated with soprano Jo Su-mi, jazz vocalist Inger Marie, tango master Pablo Ziegler, and singers Jung Mi-jo and Jang Sa-ik, bringing his own elegance to every performance. While his playing has been primarily experienced as a sideman in diverse bands spanning classical, traditional Korean music, and jazz genres, or as a leader in trio formations, this Remember Jazz performance will be a particularly special time as you'll be able to hear his sophisticated and emotional solo performances composed specifically for a single guitar. The main repertoire of this performance follows the theme of "homage," like the title of his solo guitar album. He will perform Bach's "Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 1," a work by the great composer who has served as a source of inspiration for countless musicians, followed by his own composition "Dear Johann" inspired by Bach. After performing "Lagrima" by Francisco Tárrega, known as the composer of "Recuerdos de la Alhambra," he will perform his own composition "The Starry Night With Francisco," which preserves the motif of that piece. Additionally, featuring compositions by Django Reinhardt, the master of gypsy jazz guitar, and Édith Piaf's pieces evoking Paris, France, this concert offers an experience as though taking a brief journey to Europe. With his diverse compositional style, delicate sensibility, and the pure sound of the guitar alone, you can feel the countless inspirations and influences he has received as a guitarist.
