Allegretto poco mosso [CONCERT INTRODUCTION] In the Paris of the Belle Époque, five musicians with distinctive personalities and musical worlds come together to create an era. Fauré, who led a new wave of French music, and his student Chausson; Saint-Saëns, a master of French music, and Ysaÿe, who was influenced musically by him; and Franck, who lived in the same period and developed an original musical world. Through the relationships of master and student, colleague and musical partner, the music of an era flourished even more richly as they influenced and inspired one another. In this concert, through the representative works of five composers, we trace the relationships and musical exchanges among musicians who lived together in one era. We invite you to an intimate music and stories encountered in a small salon, a beautiful afternoon of the Belle Époque.
