This chamber music concert will be hosted by Stefan Dohr, who has served as principal horn of the Berlin Philharmonic for over 30 years since 1993. Together with members of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Dohr will anchor this program around works by Czech composers. The quintet for violin, clarinet, horn, cello and piano by Zdenek Fibich, which flows like a gentle breeze, and the serenade for woodwinds, cello and double bass by Antonin Dvorak, featuring an impressive and weighty melodic sensibility, form the foundation of the program. Between these two works, which share classical beauty, sits Olivier Messiaen's 'Appel interstellaire' from Des Canyons aux etoiles. After creating harmonies with the ensemble members in the first work, Dohr suddenly takes center stage as a soloist, sounding a signal on the horn directed toward the cosmos.
