Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra: Nikolai Lugansky performs Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 ①

[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION] Nikolai Luganski's discography speaks for itself: "Chopin is as important to me as the works of Russian composers." The pianist, who has earned acclaim for his refined and emotionally restrained interpretations of Chopin, will perform Frédéric Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. In this concerto, where the soloist drives the narrative forward, we are curious to hear what story Luganski will tell. We are also delighted to welcome conductor Ludovic Morlot's return to the Seoul Philharmonic. Since last conducting the orchestra in 2019, Morlot will present Hector Berlioz's opera "Les Troyens" with the movement "Royal Hunt and Storm," followed by Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 2 in the second half. This is a work showcasing Schumann in his carefree prime, imbued with fundamentally healthy musical sensibility.
