Light and darkness, or joy and sorrow. Another Mozart series prepared by Jaap van Zweden presents the emotions that Mozart, who lived only thirty-five years, must have felt through stark contrast. In the first half, brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen will take the stage to perform Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos, K. 365. Following the brilliant Mozart performed by the Jussen brothers, who have been regarded as the most acclaimed piano duo for the past decade, comes the Requiem—the composer's final work and posthumous legacy. From the sorrow that descends from the very beginning, we will come to recognize that this composer possessed an innate talent not only for depicting joy, but also for expressing endlessly descending emotions. Among those who have passed away, there are certain deaths that remain particularly memorable. Throughout the performance of the Requiem, we will be reminded of the untimely death that befell this possessor of endless talent.
