[Performance Introduction]
Tehiun and Inna De Jeju
Tehiun and Inna De Jeju is the name of the band.
Tehiun is a singer-songwriter who mainly plays reggae and folk with an acoustic sound. He takes a deep interest in and respect for traditional music from various countries around the world, absorbs it in diverse ways, and arranges it in his own unique style.
In particular, he is deeply immersed in Jamaica's roots reggae, focusing on analog sound and messages of peace. He also draws much inspiration from new music experienced through his travels and expresses the emotions and speech patterns felt in Korean traditional music, which is his roots, through his songs.
Recently, with the desire to showcase acoustic reggae sound even better, he brought in bassist Min-young Lee, African and Brazilian percussionist Yang-gun (Parasolwave), Arabian percussionist Mina (Surisurimahasuree), and Seodo vocal singer and percussionist Geunah-sung (Group Ttal, Noneun Johap, Bongo Session). Together, they formed Inna De Jeju, an acoustic band that pursues the Nyahbinghi rhythm sound—the traditional beat pattern of Jamaica—known as the Inna De Yard sound.
