The Book: People Who Became Scripture [Iksan]

[Performance Introduction] The greatest story the world has never told! Early 15th century England—over 100 years before Martin Luther's Reformation. The Bible could only be read in Latin, and to read and share the Bible in one's native language meant risking your life. At that time, there were ordinary people who became "the Bible itself." The musical [THE BOOK] brings to the stage the story of those ordinary people whose names are recorded in inquisition documents. Where those who sought to suppress and those who sought to reveal collide, we ask: at what cost did this single book we casually pass over reach us today? Recommended for: - Families who wish to spend Reformation Week meaningfully with the next generation - Teenagers and young adults who want to witness the history of how the Bible came into our hands - Group viewing by church schools, youth groups, and young adult groups - Anyone who loves the Bible!
