With Sona Classic, Recording a Moment, Memory of Sound

[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION] "A Record of Moments, A Memory of Sound" is a participatory concert project that reinterprets audiences' stories through classical music as art. We selected photographs and stories submitted in advance that aligned with the performance's purpose, and matched each narrative with classical pieces that suited its atmosphere and emotion. By introducing the photographs and stories alongside the performances, we structured the concert so that music becomes a language that conveys the emotion of the story, rather than merely serving as background. The program encompasses various emotions that anyone can relate to—love, hope, excitement, longing, and gratitude. We designed it so that through the refined expressiveness of classical music, audiences can naturally reflect on their own lives. SoNA Classic hopes that classical music becomes not an art form for a select few, but a culture that exists closest to our everyday lives. Through this performance, where the music on stage and the memories in the audience seats become connected as one, we wish to convey that music can be the most beautiful record that connects people to one another. [SYNOPSIS] "A Record of Moments, A Memory of Sound" Photographs capture time, and music breathes life into that moment. Throughout our lives, we preserve countless moments through photographs—a warm day spent with family, a meeting with someone we love, an unforgettable journey, memories of missing someone. While photographs hold the image of that moment, the emotions and warmth within them often fade gradually as time passes. "A Record of Moments, A Memory of Sound" is a participatory concert where audiences' own photographs and stories are woven together with classical music to create a single performance. Each person's ordinary yet special story meets the performance and leads to a new emotional experience. On stage, music expands one person's memory into shared empathy for all. In Part I, photographs selected with the theme of "love" are introduced alongside music, depicting various forms of love. Different emotions—between romantic partners and families, friends, pets, and love for life itself—connect as one story atop classical melodies. In Part II, music is added to stories composed of multiple photographs and narratives. Records of life filled with joy and anticipation, growth and farewell, gratitude and hope are reborn as stories that transcend mere reminiscence and resonate with all audience members. This performance goes beyond musicians simply performing music; it offers a special experience where the audience's lives become part of the performance. Music will comfort someone's memory and become a new memory for another, lingering in hearts for a long time to come.
