Last Curtain Call [Hongseong]

[PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION] Original Musical Depicting Hongseong's Independence Movement History Adding fantasy to Hongseong's independence movement history! The musical 'Last Curtain Call' was created based on an actual historical event: a massive independence movement that took place after a performance ended in Gasan-ri, Geumma-myeon, Hongseong-gun in 1919. To convey Hongseong's story, which preserves the history of Korea's independence movement during Japanese colonial rule, to today's audiences, a time-slip setting is employed where a contemporary singer travels back to the past, combined with fantasy elements. By blending imagination with historical events, the work allows audiences to encounter the significance of the independence movement in an accessible and engaging manner. The story follows a contemporary singer protagonist named 'Sion' who time-travels to Hongseong in the past, guiding audiences to the site of the independence movement. Centered on the protagonist's encounters with people from the past and confrontations with the reality of that era, the work incorporates fantastical imagination into historical events, enabling audiences to understand history more easily and engagingly. The music is composed in the 'Joseon Pop' genre, which blends traditional Korean music with contemporary popular music. By adding the charm of traditional Korean music to the familiar sensibility of popular music, the historical background is expressed more vividly, allowing audiences to enjoy not only the narrative but also the music and staging together.
